Important Notice for Indian Nationals
I. Advisory for Indian nationals visiting Indonesia:
Indian nationals visiting Indonesia must ensure that they have the following to avoid any inconvenience at immigration control:
(i) Appropriate type of visa/ Electronic visa on Arrival (e-VOA)/ Visa on Arrival (VOA) at airport
(ii) Return Ticket or a connecting ticket to continue the journey to another country
(iii) Proof of Hotel booking/ address of place of stay including contact details
(iv) Proper explanation for purpose of visit
(v) Sufficient money for expenditure during stay
(vi) Passport should be valid for more than 6 months
Travelers are cautioned that despite Visa on Arrival facility, if immigration authorities are not convinced, they may deport the passengers without assigning any reason.
II. Advisory for Indian nationals resident in Indonesia
(i) All Indian Nationals in Indonesia are requested to register and fill the detailed form on Global Pravasi Rishta Portal.
(ii) The portal may be accessed at https://pravasirishta.gov.in . After registration, please select Consular>Registration. Please click here for complete details.
(iii) Advisory regarding overcharging by agents for overseas recruitment, offering fake overseas jobs and illegal recruitment.
III. Travel Advisory for Indian Tourists visiting Bali, Indonesia:
(i) Kindly ensure that your passport has more than 06 months validity from date of arrival in Indonesia (calendar months and not 180 days). Immigration authorities in Bali do not grant entry to any tourist who has lesser validity.
(ii) While visa for Indians is available on arrival at Bali airport, it is better to take e- visa, fill custom declaration form and pay tourist levy fee online in advance through the following links: (a) eVOA: https://molina.imigrasi.go.id/ (b) eCustoms Declaration: https://ecd.beacukai.go.id/ (c) Tourist Levy: https://lovebali.baliprov.go.id/. This will significantly reduce your wait time upon arrival at Bali airport.
(iii) There have been incidents of mobile phone & gold chain snatching and ATM card skimming especially in the tourist areas of Bali including Kuta, Seminyak and Canggu. Hence, please be careful of your belongings while walking on the streets and riding on the motorbike. Also consider withdrawing money from the bank branch ATMs when possible.
(iv) Kindly exercise abundant caution and check the safety equipment before going for any adventurous activities like ATV ride, Banana boat ride, hiking, snorkeling, Go-kart and other water/adventurous sports. As seeking emergency medical help in Bali takes considerable time.
(v) Kindly note that Indian Driving License is not valid for driving in Indonesia. For driving rental scooters/bikes in Bali you must have International Driving License. This is crucial as in case of accident, you may face problem with the local police and your health insurance company.
(vi) Before renting/using any local vehicle/transport like scooters, bike, ATV, Jet-Ski, boats etc for self use, please ensure that the same has adequate insurance cover for any damage and third party. Please note that rental vehicles in Bali, including those being used for water sports/activities are often not insured; hence in case of accidents, the renter is forced to pay for the damage to the vehicle as well as to the third party involved in the accident.
(vii) Kindly take adequate Travel Health Insurance before coming as the cost of medical treatment in Bali is on the higher side.
(viii) If your trip is being managed by a tour operator, kindly make sure to use services only from reputed and well-established tour operators. This is specially important when taxis are hired for longer duration for sight seeing purposes.
(ix) Consuming/bringing any kind of banned narcotics in Bali is illegal and has strict punishment including up to death sentence in case of trafficking.
