 Higher Education in India:

India today has one of the most comprehensive higher education systems in the world.

India has been a centre for learning from time immemorial. Modern-day India is one of the leading countries providing quality higher education to its citizens as well as to students and scholars from all over the world. Indian universities and institutes of higher education and research have made significant contributions to the transmission of knowledge and have played a leading role to transform the country into a modern industrialized, technologically advanced state.

Education in India is not only comparable to the best institutions in the world but also available at a relatively affordable cost. The high quality of education at affordable cost with proximity to Indonesia makes Indian institutions of higher learning the best choice for the Indonesian students to pursue their higher studies.

The Universities and the specialized institutions are the centers for higher learning in India, covering a wide range of subjects from fine arts to computer engineering to space research. Most of the universities have a federal structure composed of affiliated colleges in one tier and the university departments on the other.

The affiliated colleges teach, in general, undergraduate courses, whereas the University departments conduct postgraduate teaching and advanced research. There are also universities and institutions providing technical and professional knowledge to industry.
