Jakarta Futures Forum: Blue Horizons, Green Growth

 

The Embassy of India is delighted to announce that a two-day conference "Jakarta Futures Forum: Blue Horizons, Green Growth" (JFF) is scheduled to be held on 2nd-3rd May 2024 in Jakarta. It is a first-of-a-kind collaboration of this scale between the Embassy of India, Jakarta, and eminent think tanks Observer Research Foundation(ORF), India, and Foreign Policy Community of Indonesia(FPCI), Indonesia.

2. Jakarta Futures Forum is being organised as a part of activities to commemorate 75 years of establishment of diplomatic ties between India and Indonesia. The Forum will delve deeper into the possibilities of new and greater collaboration in the coming years to realise the vision of our leaders of "Indonesia Emas 2045" and "Developed India 2047".

3. This high-level gathering will convene Ministers, policymakers, business leaders, academics, and experts from India, Indonesia and across the world. Key stakeholders from across the Indo-Pacific region will discuss about the current scenario and future possibilities to chart a new course for bilateral and multilateral cooperation in a rapidly evolving global landscape.

4. The Forum will be kicked off on 2nd May 2024 with an inaugural plenary session, “Charting New Horizons: Navigating the Evolving Landscape of India-Indonesia Relations in the Indo-Pacific followed by a Gala Dinner. The keynote speech will be delivered by H.E. Mr. Sandiaga Uno, Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy of Republic of Indonesia. This session will explore the immense potential for India and Indonesia to be not just participants, but leaders, in shaping the future of the Indo-Pacific region.

5. The event on 3rd May 2024 will be graced by the keynote addresses from H.E. Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, Coordinating Minister of Maritime and Investment Affairs(CMMAI), H.E. Rachmat Kaimuddin, Deputy for Infrastructure and Transportation Coordination,(CMMAI) among other dignitaries. Pertinent themes for propelling the two countries forward like digital transformation, blue and green economy, energy transition and green mobility, and women-led development will be discussed by field experts. The Forum will pave a way for the voices of domain experts who have been brought together from all across the Indo-Pacific to be heard for nudging new beginnings and new possibilities as we celebrate 75 years of establishment of diplomatic ties between India and Indonesia!
