Celebration of 78th Independence Day of India at Jakarta
The Embassy of India, Jakarta, celebrated the 78th Independence Day of India on 15th August, 2024 at Wayang Auditorium, Embassy of India, Jakarta, with enthusiasm and patriotic fervour. The function witnessed participation by a large number of Indian Diaspora, Friends of India, school students and teachers, approximating to about 300 guests. Similar programmes were organised at the Indian Consulates in Medan and Bali.
2. Mr. Sandeep Chakravorty, Ambassador of India to Indonesia and Timor Leste hoisted the National Flag, followed by singing of the National Anthem.
3. Ambassador, thereafter, read the address to the nation by Hon’ble Smt. Droupadi Murmu, President of India, on the eve of Independence Day. Ambassador also addressed the Indian community and Friends of India in Indonesia assembled during the occasion.
4. The 78th Independence Day was commemorated alongside the celebration of 75 years of diplomatic ties between India and Indonesia.
5. Sangeet Kala Sangam, a folk dance troupe from Manipur, sent by the Indian Council of Cultural Relations, performed during the celebration.
