Holi Celebrated in Jakarta (24 February 2018) 

 

Embassy of India in association with the India Club Jakarta organized a grand Holi Fair on 24 February 2018 at Pasar Festival Ground in Kuningan, Jakarta. H.E. Mr. Pradeep Kumar Rawat, Ambassador of India who was Chief Guest greeted participants on the occasion of Holi.  He told the audience that Holi festival is occasion to forget all animosity and renew friendship. Playing with water and colors is symbolic of cleansing of sins and vices, he added.  

 

More than 1000 persons, mostly Indonesian nationals, participated in the event. Indian food stalls set up by Indian restaurants served delicious Indian food and snacks which was savoured by the guests. Rain Dance, Live DJ , Bollywood flash mob and singers from India enthralled the audience. This was first time the Embassy organized Holi event in such a large scale.
