Photo Gallery Sonam Kalra performs ‘Sufi-Gospel Project’ in Indonesia

At the invitation of Embassy of India in Jakarta, Sonam Kalra group, an ICCR sponsored troupe, presented ‘Sufi Gospel Project’ in Jakarta on 12 January 2018 at the auditorium of Gandhi Memorial Intercontinental School. The Sufi Gospel Project is an attempt to blend the different voices of faith and create one powerful voice, through music, song and language, said Sonam Kalra, the lead-singer of the group.  In his brief remarks Ambassador Pradeep Kumar Rawat said that Sufi tradition of deep devotion and tolerance is similar to what Mahatma Gandhi also practiced. The program organized by the Embassy was attended by diplomatic community, Indian expatriate community and diaspora who were regaled by melodious pieces such as Alfat in bin un bin an bin, Bol, Damadam mast qalandar, Chal Bulleya chal utthe chaliye and Amazing Grace. The troupe performed in Surabaya on 14 January 2018 before leaving for India.
