1st India Indonesia Infrastructure Forum held in Jakarta in partnership with Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs
The 1st India Indonesia Infrastructure Forum (IIIF) was organised by the Embassy of India, jointly along with the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs, on 19 March 2018 at The Ritz Carlton in Jakarta. The event was jointly inaugurated by H.E. Mr. Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs, H.E. Mr. Budi Karya Sumadi, Minister of Transportation along with Ambassador of India to Indonesia, H.E. Mr. Pradeep K Rawat.
2.A high-level delegation of nearly 30 plus Indian CEO’s from infrastructure sector focusing on Port, Power, Airport, Water Resource Management, Hospital Management Systems and Health Service, Industry 4.0 and IT solutions for Infrastructure Projects, with leading Indian companies like GMR, GVK, BHEL, IOCL, Adani, Larsen & Toubro, Tata Power, TCS, Tech Mahindra, Adani, Max Hospitals, Narayana Health, WAPCOS, EXIM Bank, Jet Airways amongst several others being present.

3.Industry counterparts from Indonesia ofmore than 80 companies in infrastructure sector including Pertamina (Oil & Gas), Garuda (Air connectivity), Angkasa Pura (Airports), Pelindo (Seaports), Jasa Marga (Highway Management), along with officials of BKPM, Ministry of State Owned Enterprises and Ministry of Health also participated at the 1st IIIF.
4.In his opening remarks, Ambassador Rawat underscored the rising Indian economic growth story and success stories of Indian investments abroad. He called for forging of greater synergies between Indian and Indonesian industries, especially in the infrastructure sector.
5.Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs, Hon’ble Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan welcomed the Indian companies to Indonesia and gave them an overall outline of the improved investment climate in Indonesia and underscored that Infrastructure development was atop priority for the Government of Indonesia. Hon’ble Minister of Transportation also welcomed Indian industry participation in Indonesia and stated that both sides were working together to achieve direct flight connectivity between the two countries very soon.
6.This 1st IIIF included sectoral presentations by Indian companies on their capacities to execute projects in the port, power, airport Infrastructure, water resource management, hospital and Healthcare, Industry 4.0 and IT solutions for Infrastructure Projects etc. Presentations were also made by the representative of Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs, BKPM, Minister of State Owned Companies and Ministry of Health on the investment incentives being offered to foreign companies.
7.The event also included B2B meetings between representatives of Indian and Indonesian companies. Significant business leads emerged during the B2B sessions which would be followed by both sides subsequently.
8. A delegates booklet was also published by the Embassy and circulated amongst the participants, which provided a comprehensive list of all the infrastructure projects that are available in Indonesia till end 2019, which are being facilitated with Government support.
9. It may be noted that Indonesia, is India’s largest trading partner in the ASEAN region and this was the first event exclusively focusing on increasing Indian stakeholder participation in Indonesian infrastructure that was organized in Indonesia. It is henceforth expected to be an annual event, in collaboration with agencies of the Indonesian Government.
