India Culture Week @ Yogyakarta

 

Mass Yoga Sessions held at Yogyakarta on 16 and 17 December 2018

 

Two Yoga Sessions were organised at Plaza Monument SO 1 Maret (center of Yogyakarta city) and the Universitas Islam Negeri Sunan Kalijaga, Yogyakarta in the early morning of 16 & 17 December 2018 respectively by Embassy of India.

 

Over 400 participants joined the yoga session at Plaza Monument SO 1 Maret in the early morning of 16 December 2018. Similarly, around 175 Yogis comprising of students and faculty members of UIN Sunan Kalijaga participated in the yoga session. The participants actively followed the IDY protocol postures that were conducted by Indian Yoga Teachers from Jawaharlal Nehru Indian Cultural Centre (JNICC), Jakarta.

 

The Yoga Sessions were organized as part of the India Culture Week in Yogyakarta from 17-23 December 2018. The India Culture Week (ICW) showcased different facets of Indian tourism, arts, culture, music, dance, food, Yoga and Bollywood films spread over an entire week. It is expected that the week-long events planned under the India Culture Week would facilitate a better understanding and appreciation of India in the hearts and minds of Yogyakarta residents. The Embassy of India is deeply appreciative of the support and facilitation provided by leadership of Provincial Government of Yogyakarta Special Region and UIN Sunan Kalijaga in organizing the India Culture Week Celebrations.
