A Special Bodhi Sapling Planted at Prambanan Temple premises, Yogyakarta, Gandhi@150

Embassy of India Jakarta, Ministry of Tourism Republic of Indonesia and Taman Wisata Candi (TWC) the management company of Prambanan Ratu Boko and Borobudur temples organized a special event commemorating world environment day and remembering Mahatma Gandhi on his 150th Birth Anniversary.

 

Tree Plantation event was organized on 22nd June Saturday evening from 1600 to 1700 hrs in front of Sewu Buddhist temple. Three bodhi tree saplings were planted by dignitaries. General Manager of TWC Prambanan Unit Mr Aryono also remained presence at the event.

 

H.E Ambassador of India Pradeep Kumar Rawat and Deputy Minister of Tourism, Republic of Indonesia Ibu Nia Niscaya graced the event. Ambassador in his remarks to media and guests present at the event mentioned the wisdom and foresight of Mahatma Gandhi said that this would be a true tribute to Mahatma on his 150th Birth Anniversary at Sewu Temple heritage site in Yogyakarta. The event was also celebrated upon bringing awareness towards conservation of environment and nature.
