India Culture Week : Visit India Tourism Seminar inaugurated with more than 100 travel agents participating in the event

Embassy of India in Jakarta along with Regional Government of Bandung organized the first Visit India Tourism Seminar in Bandung on 30 December 2017.  The Seminar was part of the India Culture Week celebrations planned for 30 December 2017 to 5 January 2018.

 

Ambassador of India to Indonesia H.E. Mr Pradeep Kumar Rawat and the Mayor of Bandung H.E. Mr Ridwan Kamil jointly inaugurated the Visit India Tourism Seminar at Hotel Savoy on 30 December 2017. The Mayor of Bandung expressed hope that the event would lead to increased flow of tourists from each other's region. Ambassador highlighted the scope of enhancing cooperation in tourism sector between India and Bandung which had great potential.

 

The Seminar was attended by representatives of leading tour and travel companies and airlines from Indonesia and India. M/s Top Travels and Tours and M/s Cox & Kings made presentations on tourism opportunities including tours to Islamic monuments in India, Golden Triangle, luxury train Deccan Express, while Apollo Hospital made a presentation on medical tourism and on possibilities for collaboration in hospital management systems. Air India and Jet Airways representatives also shared their connectivity options for travel to India.

 

From the Bandung Government, presentations were made by Head of Culture and Tourism Department of Bandung City Government. The Seminar was followed by B2B meetings. The Visit India Tourism Seminar was attended by more than 100 participants including travel agents and local media representatives.

 

It may be noted that apart from Visit India Tourism Seminar, the India Culture Week celebrations included Indian Food Festival at Hotel Savoy, Indian Film Festival at De Majestic Theatre, Photo Exhibition on India-Indonesia friendship at recently opened Bandung Creative Hub. There will be grand Indian cultural event with Bollywood performances on the eve of New Year.  While the Tourism Seminar and the cultural event conclude the same day, the Indian Food Festival, Indian Film Festival and the Photo Exhibition on India-Indonesia friendship would continue till 5 January 2018.

 

It is expected that with this series of events under India Culture Week, a better appreciation of Indian art, culture and tourism would develop in the minds of Bandung people.
