Know India Programme (KIP)
The Know India Programme (KIP) is a flagship initiative of this Ministry designed to reconnect Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs) aged 21-35 years with their ethnic roots. It showcases India's rich cultural heritage and its recent remarkable developmental strides.
The Ministry aims to present various facets of contemporary India, including Art, Heritage, Culture, Economy, Innovations, Start-ups, Science & Technology, among others, to young members of the Indian diaspora. This initiative seeks to inspire and encourage them to contribute to and participate in India's transformative journey towards Viksit Bharat.
Since its inception in 2003-04, the Ministry has successfully organized 81 editions of the KIP, with 2,922 youth PIO participants. The 82nd edition of the KIP is scheduled from 12 to 31 May 2025, marking the first in the series for this financial year. As in previous editions, 40 youth PIO members aged 21-35 years will be invited to visit India for a three-week immersive programme designed to achieve these objectives.
